Shoemaker has a way of creating vivid scenes, characters you actually care about, and suspense that keeps you turning the pages late into the night.

All I can say is that this got an enthusiastic thumbs up from a boy in my church who was eagerly checking out the other books in the series. Super adventurous, clean, exciting drama for youth.

I bought Code of Silence, Below the Surface and Back Before Dark for my 13 year old son at a homeschool expo in Greenville where, much to my surprise, the author was selling, and signing the books… I was totally excited to give them to my son because they sounded like books he would love… And he does. He finished the first one the day I gave it to him.
